The GSMB Chairman said that measures will be taken to remove the rock stones and ensure the construction takes place in line with the agreement between the parties concerned without damaging the environment. He said that the suspension of the project for several months after it began, had resulted in massive rock stones placed around the project site being washed into the sea. The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) is to monitor construction work on the Financial City (formerly known as port city) at Galle Face.GSMB Chairman Kithsiri Dissanayake said that an official will be appointed to ensure the construction of the Financial City dos not harm the environment.
